For example, you can enjoy the comfort of working with a bigger screen and other synergic desktop utilities. The trial version has no expiration date, but it’s limited to 10 scenes and 1 timeline.īriefs is a desktop application, which presents several advantages. Note: MartianCraft gives you the possibility to try a fully functional app before you buy Briefs. Even sharing your projects with clients can be painless with the free companion iOS app Briefscase. Like the other apps highlighted in part 1, you can create simple mockups and deliver iterations to your design. Briefs by MartianCraftīriefs is a $199, first-class Mac application that makes mocking up really easy on platforms… and yes, even fun! I’ll give a review of each app, then at the end of the article I’ll share my personal recommendation on which is the best app mockup tool for you.Īnd best of all – we have some giveaways at the end! Keep reading to see how you can enter to win. The special thing about these particular tools is that they can be used to make all kinds of mockups – even for desktop apps or websites. So in this second part of the series, we’re going to take at three more mockup tools: These are all great tools, but there’s a lot more than that! In the first part of this series, I reviewed several popular app mockup tools: It exports to a PNG file so you can share with others as well.Update 3/16/14: Congrats to the lucky winners who won a free copy of Blueprint or AppCooker: brente, tylerclark, quickfinga, Chamorro702, jim, grzehotnik, smick, davsys01, armilam, and vmacavero! We will be in touch to deliver your prizes soon. I find it to be a helpful tool in the toolbox for doing very, very quick mockups for thoughts. I wrote to Peldi and requested a license for working on the various open source projects I’m involved with and received a license very quickly (the licensed version allows you to save/export). Very cool to see that kind of ‘giving back’ to the community. “If you are a do-gooder of any sort (non-profit, charity, open-source contributor, you get the idea), email me with a short blurb and I'll send you a license, FREE of charge.” One of them is if you are a contributor on an open source project or doing work for a non-profit. What is cool is that the author provides several ways of getting individual licenses for Balsamiq. I’ve been using it in design thoughts around my blog site here for Subtext, as well as other Silverlight mockups I’ve been playing around with. The author has done a good job of providing a suite of draggable elements that would make up most any web site/application. My only complaint is the use of Comic Sans :-). I know there are other methods (please post your favorites in the comments), but there is something about this product that makes me like it a lot. It is a software program that basically allows you to quickly mock up web/software designs using wire-frame elements. I was turned on to this program recently called Balsamiq Mockups. I liked the feel of being ‘less tech’ when it came to mockups, etc. I used to try to prototype in HTML a lot, but it just got too easy to draw it out. Lately I’ve been putting more design thoughts onto paper. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Battlefield bad company wikiaThey then spot some trucks and watch them drive away. The squad, led by Haggard and the thought of gold, fight their way through, but after checking the bodies, find nothing. They arrive at the harbor, but find that it is full of mercenaries. Mike-One-Juliet then sends them to a harbor full of suspicious activity and says that if they do a good job, she could get them out the company and in to a better unit. Just then, a rocket is heard hitting a US tank nearby, to which Mike-One-Juliet sends the squad to defend it from the enemy reinforcements until more US forces arrive. The squad is then sent to destroy a Russian radio outpost before they call for reinforcements, but they are too late as the call is made and more Russian forces arrive. Bravo-One Charlie is sent ahead to clear the pass of anti-tank missile launchers and to escort the tanks to the other side of the town where the main assault is to take place. The squad had been given orders to destroy fuel and missile storage facilities and to then meet up with a US Armored Division and escort them into the Russian-held city of Zabograd. There, Marlowe finds the first case of gold. Haggard sends Marlowe inside to check out the house. On what was supposed to be Redford's last mission before retirement, the squad is sent to move through more Russian territory when they find a house with the Legionnaires' insignia on a sign in front, Acta Non Verba - Latin for "Action, Not Words". Haggard finds a gold bar in the suit of a dead Legionnaire mercenary, starting their interest in the Legionnaire's gold. After the airstrike finishes, Bravo-One clears out any survivors and encounter the Legionnaire Mercenaries, a mercenary group said to be the strongest military organization in the world. They barely manage to escape, and are sent to destroy radar jammers to let an airstrike destroy the artillery. When the squad joins Juneau convoy, it is attacked by another artillery barrage. Bravo-One is then sent to clear a Russian-occupied farm before being extracted, but when their helicopter is shot down by anti-aircraft fire, they are then sent to destroy the anti-air emplacements and raid another Russian-occupied farm in Juneau Convoy's path. The squad is then sent to clear a Russian-occupied river crossing when the Russians destroy the bridge. Mike-One-Juliet, the dispatch officer, sends Bravo-One Charlie (Preston's squad), to wipe out an artillery battery used by the Russians and later to use them to shell the incoming vehicles attacking Juneau convoy. This is where the player learns to look, jump, crouch, shoot, fire grenades, and repair vehicles. An artillery barrage wipes out the convoy, along with the squad's truck. Redford that Bad Company is much less formal than other military units. Preston meets his new squad-mates and quickly learns from Sgt. However, Preston is envious of the Company as they actually are fighting, while he is stuck at base. Preston likens the Company to be somewhere between a special needs class and death row since the unit is considered expendable by the Army and is meant to keep the Russian Army occupied while the real Army prepares. Nicknamed "Bad Company" by the grunts, the unit is said to be a conglomerate of all the misfit soldiers that can't fit in another unit due to their actions. Rumors start to spread about the 222nd's B-Company. He feels due to his boredom that someone on the base will do something stupid, just to make the place more interesting, and he feels he will be that person. Įxpecting to get right in to the action on the front lines, Marlowe became very disappointed as his unit did not receive orders and he was forced to pass time by playing cards and watching the war on the news. Once he enlisted, he was shipped to Europe where he was stationed in Łódź, Poland. Before his life in the army as a soldier of the 222nd Army Battalion, Preston grew up always wanting to be a soldier due to his family's heritage. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Dinners on me in australian lingoThe fact is that shortening of words to form a slang word for it is a universal practice across all time and languages. With slang terms such as this, it’s often very difficult to say when they first came into use. Why do Australians say brekkie/brekky/breakie? Where do all these terms come from, then? While originally a British food, it has taken on a uniquely Australian character, too. It describes a dish of fried potatoes and other leftovers. “Bubble and squeak” is also a breakfast dish enjoyed in Australia and parts of England which could also serve as a stand in for the word breakfast. Or, for example, you might say simply “googies and a cuppa?” if offering to make someone breakfast. So, in Australian slang, you might also refer to breakfast as something like “a plate of googies”, meaning a plate of eggs. We have many such expressions across the English speaking world-I mentioned “eggs and bakey”, but we also have such metaphors as “waking up and smelling the coffee”, or “having egg on your face”. The only other real slang terms that one might use to refer to breakfast are those terms that describe individual breakfast items. Of course, when it comes to slang terms, whether or not it’s “accepted” is largely irrelevant, but no doubt it does reflect the actual usage and how it tends to be spelled. “Breakie” is also used, but is really the only spelling that is not broadly accepted. It can also be spelled “brekky”, though, but the meaning and pronunciation are the same. This term is also used in some parts of the UK, though to a lesser extent. Statistics show that, when it’s written down, the most popular way by far to spell it is this way, “brekkie”. This is broadly used across most of Australia as far as we can tell, and has been for rather a long time. Why do Australians say brekkie/brekky/breakie?Īpart from just calling it breakfast, the main slang term that is used to refer to breakfast is just brekkie. Your GuitarZoom All Access Membership Gives You Access to 58 Online Guitar Courses By Steve Stine It gives you a simple, step by step plan to play anything you want on guitar and it breaks down like this. That’s why I created the GuitarZoom All Access Membership. That’s why spending hours figuring out tabs or watching YouTube videos makes most guitar players feel overwhelmed and confused. If you start on G and play the major scale (T,T,S,T,T,T,S) then if you are in F, using the SAME notes as the Fmaj, you would have a different interval to the Gmaj scale if you want to emphasise G – you would be using T,S,T,T,T,S,T if you target G whilst using the Fmaj notes but targeting G instead. He’s absolutely right, “Playing something on your guitar is one thing but actually understanding it is a whole other thing.” I am totally confused because some say each has it own scale, and some say its just targetting different notes. I know that the 'pattern' of a Major scale is T,T,S,T,T,T,S and if you emphasise A but still play the SAME notes as the Gmajor, the intervals between the notes (when targeting A) would be T,S,T,T,T,S,T – A,B,C,D,E,F#,G,A as opposed to G,A,B,C,D,E.F#,G or if I emphasise C, I would still be playing C,D,E,F#,G,A,B,C which would have the intervals of T,T,T,S,T,T,S so is this Lydian? If its just emphasising a different Note, say I target the A for example and play the 'same' notes as a Gmaj scale in the same place I have learned this scale but using A as the 'root' essentially, is this A Dorian? They then proceed to do 'different' scale patterns in the 'same' place on the fretboard which are obviously not using exactly the same notes with just an emphasis on a different note (like just emphasising the E over a Gmaj Chord) as you have just said. Then someone comes along and says its not that simple and start talking about each mode has its own scale and then starts talking about major/minor 3rds, 7ths etc. Emphasising E would therefore be Aeolian and D would be Mixolydian… I understand the the Major scale and how its constructed, but what confuses me is that in some video's I am told that Modes of GMaj all use 'exactly' the same notes, so if you emphasise G for example, that is Ionian but if you emphasise A, that is A Dorian. Just when I think I understand, another person comes along and really adds confusion… His way of learning kind of reminds me of math a bit and I'm wondering if at least for now I'm making things more complicated than I can handle.Īny tips or experiences related to this? So I just bite through all that dry stuff or adjust my way of learning? □ I'm having a hard time though……I'm very auditive and kinestetic so I easily pick up things by ear and feeling them on the fretboard (like boxes for example). He is not a fan of the so called 'boxes' though as he says it is limiting relying on those instead of learning the actual notes and the intervals, if you learn the latter it is easier to combine different modes because you understand how it works. I learned the intervals of the ionian, aeolian, mixolydian and dorian mode (which he explained are pretty basically all that is used in Western music or what I listen to). I want to learn how to play solo's and so my teacher is teaching me music theory pretty basically. □ About time I learn how that thing really works. After 20 years of playing I started taking guitar lessons. 7/31/2023 0 Comments Fog horn leg horn videoIn "Father Figures," Porky Pig becomes the father figure of Henery Hawk who wants Porky to get him chicken. In the 2010s series The Looney Tunes Show, Henery Hawk appeared in the episode "Fish and Visitors", in the Merrie Melodies segment "Chickenhawk" (sung by Barnyard Dawg) where he tries to eat Foghorn Leghorn while Foghorn tries to break him of his craving. Henery Hawk made a brief cameo appearance in the bleacher scenes of the 1996 film, Space Jam. Henery was going to have a cameo in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, but was later dropped for unknown reasons. Henery Hawk is also a supporting character in the Looney Tunes comic books in pre-1970s stories, he often starred in features of his own, typically played against Oliver Owl as well as Foghorn. Typically, Henery would decide that one of them must be a real chicken therefore, he would knock out and capture both, after threatening them with the catch-phrase "Are you comin' quietly, or do I have to muss ya up!?" Many cartoons ended with Henery capturing one (or both) of his tormentors, pragmatically shrugging his shoulders over whether his prey may or may not be an actual fowl. Later, when Barnyard Dawg calls Foghorn a "good-for-nothing chicken", Henery finally wises up. In a reversal, the cartoon The Foghorn Leghorn has Foghorn wanting Henery to believe Foghorn is a chicken, where Henery believes Foghorn is merely a "loud-mouthed shnook," supposedly a separate kind of creature. The remainder of the cartoon is usually consumed by Dawg and Leghorn alternately assuring Henery that the other is a chicken and encouraging him to attack the "chicken" mercilessly. Foghorn presumes that this diminutive, naïve troublemaker is no real threat however, seeing the potential for annoyance, he points and manipulates Henery in the direction of Barnyard Dawg. Having led a sheltered life, however, he does not know what a chicken looks like, only that chicken hawks eat them. In a typical Foghorn/Henery cartoon, Henery strikes out on his own for the first time, eager to capture (and presumably consume) a chicken. (With these characteristics, he became the later inspiration for the Hanna-Barbera character Scrappy-Doo. Henery has a high-pitched voice with a New York accent and perpetually angry temperament. Rogers died in 1944, so the role was then taken over by Mel Blanc (and later by Joe Alaskey and then Jeff Bergman). He was played in the first short by Kent Rogers. The young bird lives at home with his parents, speaks with tough-guy bravado, and shows surprising strength to pull or deadlift prey more than three times his size. Henery is a small, brown chickenhawk with a forelock of feathers. Following that production, Henery continued to be seen periodically in other animated presentations such as The Looney Tunes Show and Looney Tunes Cartoons. The last Warner Brothers theatrical short to showcase the little chickenhawk is the 1961 release Strangled Eggs in which he co-stars again with Foghorn Leghorn as well as with another popular character of that period, Miss Prissy. Henery's second screen appearance, one directed by Robert McKimson, is in Walky Talky Hawky (1946), which also features the characters Foghorn Leghorn and Barnyard Dawg in their first cartoon roles. His first appearance is in the 1942 theatrical release The Squawkin' Hawk, which was directed by Chuck Jones and produced by Leon Schlesinger. Henery Hawk is an American cartoon character who appears in twelve comedy film shorts produced in the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series.
